today is precious

not because tomorrow might not come
but because
today/Now
is the only Moment in which we can actually Participate in life

the past is part of our story the future is full of Possibility but neither needs to steal our Presence from today
the future is being prepared
but we are also preparing it
through the way we live today/Now
* Notice – Feel – Connect *
not dwelling in yesterday not worrying about tomorrow simply Being Awake to the Possibilities of Now 💛
the underlying message isn’t that we should stop caring, stop preparing or stop looking after those we love
it’s that worry cannot guarantee tomorrow

yesterday is not ours to change today is ours to live tomorrow is not ours to command
we can prepare without worrying we can love without controlling we can protect without carrying the whole world
we are taught to prepare, anticipate, protect, plan, provide, achieve and secure tomorrow. from childhood, so much of life is built around what comes next.
and somewhere along the way, we can become so busy trying to prevent something going wrong tomorrow that we forget to Experience what is going right today/Now

accepting that we cannot always make tomorrow safe by worrying about it today
worry can feel like preparation
it can make us feel as though we’re doing something useful, taking responsibility or protecting the people and things we love
but sometimes we’re simply living through tomorrow’s Possibilities before they’ve even Arrived
i Wonder if there’s a gentler way to approach this:
- What can I influence today? Give it my attention.
- What can I prepare for today? Do what is reasonably within my reach.
- What cannot be controlled today? Allow it to remain uncertain.
not because it doesn’t Matter but because it doesn’t need all of you right Now
Living today doesn’t mean abandoning tomorrow
it means not sacrificing the only day we can actually live in exchange for a tomorrow we cannot guarantee
perhaps this is another way of Expressing the Thought
Yesterday gave us Experience
Tomorrow offers Possibility
Today gives us Participation
one question without end
When you worry about the things you cannot control, is it mostly fear of what might happen to you, or fear of what might happen to the people and things you love?
